A visit to Montepulciano and Orvieto
The
other day, the gang visited the lovely hilltop towns of Montepulciano and
Orvieto.
Both
are lovely towns with a great food and wine heritage.
The
highlight in Montepulciano was a stop into the workshop of the Mazzetti family
where we watched the current family artisan, Cesare, work his magic to create
beautiful copper pots, jugs and all other things copper.
He
does internet sales and if you’re interested, the website is: http://rameria.com
He
made us three copper plaques: one for the group; one for Kay and Doug’s 50th
wedding anniversary and one for Arthur and Linda’s 50th wedding
anniversary next year.
As we
did a final shop in the store, run by Cesare’s wife Iolanda (aka “The Finance Minister”),
we were farewelled with a glass of Vin Santo.

Orvieto
was a lovely town to wander the streets and take in the surrounds.
